I’m a freshmen in college what can I talk about to start a conversation with people I don’t know?
could be anything – it’s more a skill that you can pick up by listening to radio DJ’s or good sales people than a list of things to keep in mind
if they have something bold on their t-shirt (band name maybe) just start in with…"So….Editors…saw Tom Smith just get down at Street Scene a few years back – amazing stuff…." "….Are they still touring?" (if their fashion has personality, just dive in)
if a group is particularly loud and drinking just go up to them and start in: "wait,wait, wait…Sixth Sense movie quotes…I see drunk people…" (point to all of them and at least smile or rib them)
if you know see someone sitting by themself, just start in with "So…who dragged you over here?"…"Yeah?" "Can I get you a drink or anything…?"
Gotta be a lot of things you can do, just use the clues around you
